Corporate value statements are often “World Peace Statements” – they have the “woo” factor: they feel & sound good, but have no real world representation or impact. The actual value is usually “extract value for profit” and collides with Agile values.
But remember, there’s a lot of “woo” in Agile, as well, so it’s important to communicate the real, business benefits of Agility. For example, make it visible that ‘sustainable pace’ provides actual value.
The upshot:
- Lead by example. Be Agile.
- Demonstrate the value of Agility
- Invite all levels of the business to participate.
